Who looks after it
Section titled “Who looks after it”Women Defining AI looks after AI Practice Commons. Anyone can use, adapt and improve it for free. The Build Cycle method in the skills comes from WDAI’s programs team. It is in beta until after its pilot in February 2027.
Licences
Section titled “Licences”- Code, schemas and skill packaging: Apache-2.0.
- Original written content (concept cards, blueprints, skill text, summaries): CC BY 4.0. Reuse it and give credit.
- Third-party material keeps its own terms. The catalogue links to it with a summary we wrote ourselves and records each licence. We adapt text only when its licence allows it, and never from noncommercial or share-alike sources.
Garden and core
Section titled “Garden and core”Every record in the commons sits in one of two layers.
- Garden records are open drafts. Anyone can add them, and so can their AI agents. Some were proposed by AI. Each one carries a dashed Garden · not yet reviewed label, because no person has checked it yet.
- Core records have been checked by a person for accuracy, rights and how well they teach. Only core records go into the installable packages by default, and the coach suggests them first.
A record moves from garden to core when a person reviews it. Labels tell you what has been checked, so drafts can stay visible while they wait. In this early preview, almost everything is still in the garden.
Readable by your AI agent
Section titled “Readable by your AI agent”More people now ask an AI agent to find and read things for them. The commons is written so those agents can use it as easily as people can.
- Agents can read every page. Each concept, skill and blueprint page has a plain Markdown copy: add
.mdto the address, as in/concepts/con-context-engineering.md. The site also publishes/llms.txt, an index for AI tools, plus/graph.json(every record and link) and/catalogue.json. - What you learn can come back. When something works,
/make-it-repeatablecan draft it as a blueprint or a new link between records, and your agent can help you send it as a pull request that you check first. - Your progress stays with you. The commons collects nothing about you. Any record of what you’ve tried lives on your own computer.
